Inditex
Growth (Large Enterprises)

Inditex is one of the worlds largest fashion distributors, with eight sales formats -Zara, Pull and Bear, Massimo Dutti, Bershka, Stradivarius, Oysho, Zara Home y Kiddy's Class- boasting 2.484 stores in 58 countries. Net sales in 2004 amounted to EUR 5,760 million. Sales have grown by a compound annual average of 21.3% since 2000 – four times faster than average growth in the industry. The company is considered a pioneer in the fast-fashion business, with a new store every day somewhere in the world.

Gamesa Eólica
Growth (Medium Enterprises)

Gamesa is one of the biggest manufacturers and suppliers of technologically advanced products, installations and services in the aeronautics and renewable energy sectors and the second largest manufacturer of wind turbines in the world. Based in Spain’s northern Basque country, It took advantage of government incentives for renewable energy to develop technology for wind parks. The company has doubled its sales in the past two years

Grupo Santander
Value Creation (Large Enterprises)

Grupo Santander is the eighth largest financial group in the world by market value. Assets have grown at an annual compound rate of 13.3%. With its generous dividend policies steady total shareholder returns have been guaranteed, despite the overall volatility of Santander’s share price.

Grupo SOS
Value Creation (Medium Enterprises)

This food group has increased sales fivefold over the past four years and is one of the world’s largest producers of olive oil, as well as rice and biscuits. SOS recently acquired an Italian olive oil company, Minerva Oli, to spearhead an export drive, as the Italian product sells at a premium to Spanish olive oil in foreign markets

Indra
Innovation (Large Enterprises)

Indra is the leading Information Technologies and Defense Systems(IT) company in Spain, with revenues of 1,079.2 M.euros and an order book totaling EUR 1,364 million. in 2004. The former state-owned defense technology company has carved a niche in designing computerized ballot systems and it operates the election count systems for Spain and much of Latin America. It is also a leader in IT systems for air traffic control and for subway systems as far away as Shanghai, Santiago in Chile and St Louis in the US.

Innovation (Medium Enterprises)

Almirall is a consolidated international pharmaceutical company with a focus on research, develop and the commercialization of its own R&D and licensed specialties with the aim of improving the health and quality of life of human beings. A family-owned pharmaceutical company in Barcelona with EUR 900 million in annual sales, it reinvests more than 10% of its revenues every year in research and development

OHL
Strategies for the New Europe (Large Enterprises)

Obrascon Huarte Lain SA(OHL) is part of the Villar Mir construction and services group. The Group's principal activities are construction and civil engineering. The construction activity includes the construction of highways, bridges, tunnels, and residential properties. The company has acquired companies in Slovenia and the Czech Republic and won railway concessions there. In addition, the company has been coaching new member states on how to obtain EU grants for big infrastructure projects

Mango
Strategies for the New Europe (Medium Enterprises)

Clothes retailer Mango, which directly competes with Zara, though it remains unlisted, has expanded strongly in eastern Europe, where it has stores in 18 countries and sales of EUR 80 million.
