Celebrating outstanding achievement in business across Europe is at the heart of the Best of European Business (BEB) competition. As the only global consultancy with European roots, Roland Berger Strategy Consultants launched this initiative with the support of strong partners from media and academia to assess the ability of companies to turn their "Europeanness" into global strength. Over the coming months, high-level juries will choose national winners from 6,000 companies in the eight participating countries and in two categories: Growth and Cross-border M&A.
                                                    
All national finalists are eligible for the pan-European prize, which will be presented at the "grand finale" of our initiative: the "Best of BEB" at the European Business Summit (EBS) in Brussels. Organized by the European Federation of Industry with support from the EU Commission, the Summit on February 21 and 22, 2008 brings together around 3,000 decision makers from all over the world. More than 90 distinguished speakers will discuss crucial issues regarding business and politics, with a special emphasis on how environmental aspects influence global businesses today.

This year's theme is "Greening the Economy: new Energy for Business." In choosing this issue, the EBS wants to focus on how Europe can turn the “carbon challenge” into a business opportunity, giving new energy to growth and jobs. At the 6th EBS in 2008, business and political leaders, NGOs, media and academics from numerous countries will share visions and solutions in the area of climate change, energy and (eco-) innovation. Given Roland Berger Strategy Consultants' longstanding expertise on these issues, the continued strategic partnership with EBS will support the breadth of topics raised in the discussion.
